Chapter 3-14: The One with the Collar…
With the steaming cup in his hand, Uta headed for the park located beside the nearby station building.
Since Sukunabikona-no-kami was present now, Housou-no-kami probably wouldn’t approach the shop.
Uta would normally spot the god either here or at the station square. However, since the station square was hosting a flea market today, Uta headed for this location instead.
He tried calling out to him, but there was no response.
The park was currently bustling with children who had been brought here via a nursery cart. They were scattered about and energetically playing around.
(There are a lot of people here, so he probably isn’t here either today.)
Regretting the fact that he hadn’t put the coffee in a take-out cup, Uta sat down on a bench.
He felt lonely by himself in the middle of this cheerful scene.
(I wonder what I am to Housou-san.)
The more the other party didn’t reciprocate, the more you wanted to pursue. This was the nature of man.
Just when Uta thought this…
“What? It isn’t alcohol?”
Someone peered into the cup in Uta’s hand from behind the bench.
“I thought I smelled alcohol.”
“That wasn’t your imagination.”
Uta grabbed the god’s arm, preventing him from escaping, and made him sit beside him on the bench.
“What do you mean?”
“Try drinking it.”
Uta took his hand and made him grab the coffee cup.
“Ah, this is…”
The god brought the cup close to his nose.
“I added some rum, about one tablespoon. I also added some sugar. It was surprisingly delicious to drink.”
The faint scent of alcohol brought a smile to Housou-no-kami’s face.
“Didn’t you say before that you couldn’t serve me alcohol?”
“Today is my day off, so this is an exception.”
“An exception, huh.”
He sipped his coffee as he would hot sake and gave a satisfied smile.
“…This is the best.”
“Really? I’m glad you said that!”
Uta broke into a smile.
“I’m glad I got to see such a face from you.”
Housou-no-kami slowly inhaled the steam that smelled of alcohol before turning serious.
“Hey, Uta… If I said that I wanted you, what would you do?”
Upon hearing these unexpected words, Uta was at a loss for how to answer.
“I’m probably like a familiar stray dog or cat to you, right? But, I’m neither a dog nor a cat. I’m a god. I’m not that harmless being you think I am.”
“What do you mean by that…?”
Uta couldn’t understand the meaning behind the god’s furrowed brows.
“You can’t tame me. If our relationship is based on who owns who, then the one with the collar is you.”
Housou-no-kami had already finished the coffee. He left the cup on the bench and stood up.
“I’ll sneak into your dreams tonight.”
He said with his back towards Uta.
Uta felt like he had goosebumps.
He had no means of resisting the god in the several acts that had been done to him inside his dreams.
When he thought back on them now, what the two of them were having there was probably sex. And, this relationship was something unknown to both Haraedo and Sukunabikona.
(What should I do…?)
The god had declared this without waiting for Uta’s answer, leaving Uta alone to just watch the god leave—
