Chapter 092 – After the Deed [A]

The morning, for Kesselring, was an extension of the night.

She had lived a nocturnal life ever since her time as chief of kalar, so morning was usually when she slept.

Her lifestyle had improved recently in order to have the same waking hours as everyone else.

Although she could do the work entrusted to her by Leonhart, the Demon Army’s officer, at any time, there were many inconveniences to working at night when most people were already asleep after all.

But above all, the main reason was the interactions with people she was close with. Kesselring wanted to cherish relationships she had, especially with her master and Leonhart.

However, even though her active time had changed, the fact she was better at night hadn’t.

Therefore, she had no problem attending a banquet that lasted until morning. Although she no longer needed to sleep after being turned into a majin, she still felt it was easier even without that fact.

…It sure is a lively time.

Demons and gal demons were lying on the ground in various places in the surrounding area. She heard most of them were part of Leonhart’s Army, and those affiliated with his fan club, but there were also other demons that came when they heard the news and they enjoyed the banquet together.

But they were now dead drunk or lost to their desire for sleep. The only ones left standing were a small number of demons, and some majins and apostles who didn’t need to sleep.

But even then, most who remained awake were also dead drunk at the moment. The drunkest of them all was Carol, Leonhart’s apostle,

“Next is this liquor! Shichisei, let’s have a drinking match! The one who loses has to drink a glass in a single breath! The winner gets to drink two glasses!”

“…How about stopping here? You’ve already drank way too much and your words hardly make any sense now—”

“Shut up! You’re just Shichisei! I won’t allow you to escape with a win! Ah, hey demon general! That’s the meat I grilled! Don’t make me open a hole in you!”

She shot her gun along with her words, and the demon general screamed. By the way, Masuzoe’s apostles, Brad and Pitt, who happened to be passing by, were also hit by stray bullets and screamed. Rather than calling her merciless, it was more because Leonhart, who could stop her, was absent so she had gone a little wild.

As Kesselring looked at that, she raised her glass and drank a bit of wine. She enjoyed the alcohol content, the aroma, and the taste of grapes from the liquor,

…Umu, drinking liquor isn’t bad every once in a while.

She hardly drank during her time as a kalar after all. It was because of how busy she was with the duty of being the chief, plus she didn’t like drinking that much, but since everyone was enjoying the banquet at the moment, she also got swept away by the atmosphere and drank along with them.

Besides, Kesselring did feel like drinking, just for today. That was because,

…Master and Leonhart… I wonder if things went well for them…?

She was wondering about the result of two people’s date, which was the reason this town was created to begin with.

According to what she heard, the atmosphere between them wasn’t bad, or rather, they exuded a sweet atmosphere, such was the testament of the gal demons and demon soldiers who saw them, and since they had returned to the castle together for the night, things should be going well.

In that case, the date they planned in accordance with her master’s consultation went exactly as planned. Her master had conveyed her feelings and Leonhart had accepted them. It was something to be happy about.

However, what Kesselring had in the corner of her mind was,

…If his partner was me instead… I wonder if he would have still planned things like this…?

Perhaps he would have. However, she couldn’t be sure.

Kesselring’s relationship with him wasn’t that close, at least not when compared to her master’s bond with him. It could be said Kesselring got to experience certain things ahead of her master, but Kesselring was sure her master’s feelings toward him were stronger than hers.

That was why she couldn’t help but be curious about what Leonhart would do if he went on a date with her instead. Perhaps it would be like the earlier part of the date, looking around various places and enjoying things together? Then, at the end of the date, he would seek her body, just like that time—

…Oops, it seems I’ve been thinking too much…

Perhaps she was a little drunk. She placed her glass down and exhaled.

However, the fact she still had such thoughts was proof she still loved him, even now.

Just as Kesselring thought of that, she saw Galtia and Hunty walking toward her,

“Ah, so you’re here.”

Kesselring bowed toward Hunty who said that. Although there was no need for Kesselring to be this respectful toward Leonhart’s apostle, according to kalar status, Hunty was the Shiso-sama. I guess I still can’t get rid of my old habits. As Kesselring thought that,

“As for Shiso-sama… it seems you got quite lively at the banquet.”

“Well, Carol forced me to participate in a drinking match after all. There were other apostles and demon generals who participated as well. Things were going well at first, but in the midst of a match, Launea got too drunk and shot her thread at a demon soldier, then said demon soldier was taken away by Thalgo, and finally Samezan carried that soldier away. We managed to rescue the soldier by working together so it was all good, but then Carol went wild several times and Shichisei struggled to stop her. Since there was so much going on, I got a little tired and chose to rest and watch like this.”

Apparently, various things had happened. As Kesselring could see the exhaustion Shiso-sama felt and she sighed,

“However, you don’t seem that drunk, even though you participated in a drinking match…”

When Kesselring asked that, Shiso-sama nodded and answered.

“I can’t get drunk regardless of how much I drink. That one seems to be the same as me.”

With that word, they glanced toward Galtia. Galtia noticed it and while chewing at the meat in his hand,

“Hm? Aah, I certainly won’t get drunk… but my mushis would get drunk instead. That’s why I try not to drink much.”

“They might trouble the people around me if I drank too much after all,” said Galtia as he kept eating his food instead. Well, mushi users were known to be immune to poison, so Kesselring thought that was the reason. She had no idea why Shiso-sama wouldn’t get drunk though.

Anyway, as they sat at the same table, Galtia casually opened his mouth,

“Even so… it feels like they ‘finally’ did it now.”

“Ah-… you’re right.”

“…Fumu.”

Kesselring nodded with Shiso-sama as they heard Galtia’s words. They understood exactly what Galtia meant with his vague words.

It was about Leonhart and Kesselring’s master. As expected, both of them had already noticed it a long time ago. Therefore, it seemed they had something to say about it. Galtia sighed, something he rarely did, and said,

“They’ve gotten along well since the time I became a majin, so much so that I wondered why their relationships hadn’t reached that point yet. Although I never actually said it, as a person who has always wondered ‘when will they do it?’, this really something to be impressed about.”

“I never thought it would take them over 300 years to reach this point though,” continued Galtia.

Hunty put her elbows on table and rested her cheek in her hand as she recalled,

“Indeed… ever since I looked at their relationships, it hardly seemed to be the bond of maou and majin. I thought they were lovers back then.”

“So it’s like that after all.”

Kesselring also agreed. Although those two had a solid relationship for a long time, they probably wouldn’t have gone any further. They had maintained the same relationship for many years, so perhaps Kesselring became the trigger that made them choose to go “further” in their relationships.

And it was something to be happy about,

“…It seems things will change. A lot.”

“No, I don’t think so. I think they will still quarrel over trivial stuff.”

“…Well, I guess some things will change, but I don’t think things will change that much?”

It seemed their opinion about this varied. Kesselring thought many things would change once they proceeded into a clear relationship between a man and a woman, just like what happened to her.

But when she thought about it, they’d already had feelings for each other for a long time, so perhaps things really wouldn’t change all that much. Perhaps they would become a little more straightforward in their feelings, but their usual attitudes wouldn’t change. It felt like any opinion could be it.

But one thing Kesselring hoped for was,

…May they have good relationships from now on as well…

So these lively and enjoyable days could continue forever.

Few hours passed since sunrise.

In a luxurious room within the Maou Castle, Ssulal was half awake in the bed of her own room.

…Fuae…?

Ssulal, who was still not fully conscious, felt something was different than usual.

She still slept on her usual bed. She also used the usual blanket.

However, the pillow felt hard, and she felt something other than a blanket covering part of her.

It was something that would normally feel like a hindrance, yet she felt it was warm and comfortable,

…Hmm… it feels really calming…

It might be hard, but that was better for her. It felt as if it was his body, that she have imagined many times,

“…Hm…?”

Suddenly, something came to her mind.

It was the memory of a tryst she had with him on the bed, which should be a dream.

Normally, she would be very happy if he appeared in her dream like that, which would render her unable to leave the bed for around an hour due to excitement.

However, it felt very real for her for today, to the point she could clearly recall the sensations. Not only that, she even felt the sensation of something that remained inside of her even now,

…Hm, hmm?

Then she finally started thinking. Something’s weird, she thought.

It was too realistic no matter how she thought about it. What’s this hard sensation…? Such doubts arose in her mind.

She slowly and gradually opened her eyelids. What she saw there when she look to check it was,

“…”

Leonhart’s appearance, at very close proximity, awakened her consciousness.

…L-Lele-Leonhart…?!

Why is he here? Is this a dream? Why is he naked? Is this a dream? After repeating those questions several times, she finally remembered. Yesterday, she was,

…I see. So it’s not a dream…

She understood that it was completely real.

They had returned to her room after the date, she exchanged kisses with him several times, and he asked her.

Moreover, after that, the deed was not only done once, but so many times that she lost count, and they had continued all the way until the morning.

That was why both of them were naked, and she felt the sensation that remained inside of her. He embraced her when she woke up. Besides, she was using his arm as pillow,

…W-we really did it…!

She thought back as she looked at his face again. She was sleeping while hugging his neck. There was his sleeping face in front of her, which made her conscious again of what they did before.

I see, so this is the thing that feels really good, or should I say, comfortable, she thought and she was convinced. As she understood that,

“…Ei.”

Somehow, she followed her instincts and drew closer to his body. Then she felt her spine tremble,

…Ah, this is quite good…

She felt her whole body wrapped around him.

She inadvertently buried her face in his hard chest and rubbed it around, feeling his smell and sensation with her all,

“~~~Leonhart…!”

She enjoyed him as she called his name. However,

“—What is it?”

“—!”
