It was now first gen¹ and the sky was a dark, ashen gray. In my room, around the bed where Toki was lying were Laham, Tsugura, Yarra, and His Majesty.

His Majesty was worried about Toki and offered to help with the surgery. Yarra came along as his escort.

“We will now commence regenerative surgery on Toki-sama’s stomach. Your Majesty, I ask that you and Tsugura please help with stabilizing and securing the area as well as continuously keeping the bed sanitized. Yarra, stand by the door, keep time, and be prepared for any unexpected situation. Your Highness, you and I will perform the surgery. The treatment can only last for three fu² at the longest. Any longer than that would put a huge burden on Toki-sama so we will end the treatment there. Please take your places.”

At Laham’s words, His Majesty took the head of the bed and Tsugura the foot. Yarra stood by the door, a clock in his left hand and his weapon in the right. Laham took Toki’s left side and I stood to his right.

First Tsugura stabilized the area, then Laham and I stepped in closer. His Majesty then cast purifying magic on everything within the area.

After making sure that His Majesty’s magic was working, both Laham and I brought our hands to a specific part of Toki’s stomach.

“Starting. Now!”

I started casting a magic circle before Laham had even finished saying those words. The magic circle stopped the function and movements in Toki’s stomach and kept it in a static state. The excess flesh in Toki’s stomach was removed, making room for the new flesh to grow.

“One fu.”

Yarra’s voice rang out and I used my magic to regenerate Toki’s flesh in the area I had just cleared. The regeneration magic stops automatically once the flesh and blood vessels have regrown.

Until the new parts of his stomach finished regrowing, my magic, which Toki’s body doesn’t reject, will continue to work inside of him. As it was only a small area this time, Toki’s own flesh would be interwoven with the regenerated area and it should only take one leaf³ until he fully recovers.

Lastly, Laham checked the regenerated area and nodded to let us know that the operation was successful.

“It’s done. Clear the area.”

Tsugura did as he said and all of us looked down at Toki’s sleeping face, letting out sighs of relief.
